What is a BREEAM certification?

SkyParks Business Centre was one of the first buildings in Malta to be awarded with an eco-certification, following a thorough assessment process conducted by BREEAM.

Based in the UK, BREEAM is the most widely-used environmental assessment method for buildings, setting the standard for best practices in sustainable design. With over 548,000 BREEAM-certified developments worldwide, the method has become the de facto measure used to rate a building’s environmental performance.

There are eight criteria upon which BREEAM bases its assessment of a building’s environmental impacts, ranging from Management & Waste to Land use & Ecology. To secure its certification, SkyParks Business Centre invested in the highest level of energy efficient systems for air conditioning, air ventilation, heat recovery units, and vertical transportation and sought to maximise energy conservation through a careful choice of lighting and water circulation systems and sanitary ware.

These eco-friendly efforts are complemented by an  environmental policy, which clearly indicates SkyParks’ maintained commitment towards the environment.
